FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers to the questions engineers and buyers ask us most.

Still have a question? Our application engineers reply within two working days.
01How do I get the Nerva H2Sep 500 datasheet?

Request it from the Products or Contact page. The full datasheet is confidential; we send it to your work email, under an NDA where needed.

02Can I get samples before signing an NDA?

We share the datasheet under NDA first so that we can agree your test protocol. Samples in your sizes then ship in about two weeks.

03Are your performance numbers independently verified?

Our published values are typical lab values measured at IIT Bombay against a commercial reference. We run joint trials on customer benches and independent third-party testing before volume supply.

04Is Nerva H2Sep 500 a drop-in for my stack?

At 430 ± 30 µm it sits in the 500 µm class, so we expect no re-tooling of frames or gaskets. We confirm fit on your cell.

05Do you supply outside India?

Yes. We work with stack makers in India, the Middle East, Europe and beyond, and provide the technical and quality documentation each market needs.

06Do you make electrolysers?

We make the core components inside them: separators today, then electrodes, zero-gap assemblies and AEM membranes, and AEM stacks in development.

07How is my information protected?

Documents are shared with named recipients, and customer data is stored in India. See our Security & trust page.

Glossary

Membrane and electrolyser terms, explained

AEM electrolysis
Anion-exchange-membrane electrolysis: combines low-cost alkaline materials with PEM-like performance, without platinum-group metals.
Alkaline electrolysis
Water electrolysis in hot concentrated KOH, with a porous separator between the electrodes. The most established electrolyser technology.
Bubble point
The gas pressure needed to push through a wetted porous membrane. Higher bubble points mean better separation of hydrogen and oxygen.
Crossover
Gas passing through the separator into the wrong compartment; it limits purity and the safe operating window.
Current density
Current per unit of electrode area (A/cm²). Higher current density means more hydrogen from the same stack.
Ionic resistance
Resistance to ion transport through the separator (Ω·cm²). Lower resistance means lower cell voltage and less power per kilogram of hydrogen.
KOH
Potassium hydroxide, the electrolyte in alkaline electrolysers.
LCOH
Levelised cost of hydrogen: lifetime cost per kilogram of hydrogen, including capital and energy.
MEA
Membrane-electrode assembly: a membrane bonded to electrodes, the core of PEM and AEM cells.
Polarisation curve
Cell voltage plotted against current. It shows how efficiently a cell converts power into hydrogen.
Zero-gap assembly
Electrodes pressed directly against the separator to minimise the gap and the cell voltage; supplied ready to stack.
Green hydrogen
Hydrogen produced by splitting water with renewable electricity, with no carbon emissions in production.
Separator
The porous sheet between electrodes in an alkaline electrolyser that conducts ions and keeps hydrogen and oxygen apart.
SIGHT
India's Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition programme, which incentivises electrolyser manufacturing.
